Don’t forget northern Minnesota! Early in the season the north is very beautiful and as we get closer to Halloween, the south gets even more spectacular.

I think you need to drive route 142 from vernon Vt north to canada. Your choices? OKlahoma Kansas? Maybe for some BBQ or football? North Carolina? If you like lots of trash with your fall colors I guess. Vermont is by far the best place to see the leaves change!!!!!! Just dont talk politics with the Bernie sanders or patrick leahy supporters in that state.Socialists like or new Government we have now.

You haven’t really seen fall color until you’ve driven through Brown County Indiana in the fall. John Mellencamp built his home and recording compound there for a reason. It’s magical.

You’re really missing the boat if you leave out the upper peninsula of Michigan.

I am so glad that you included West Virginia.
It is a truly amazing place and the fall colors here are simply amazing.
If you come here don’t go to Charleston or the capitol area. It is nice, but head to the mountains in the Monongahela forest.
You will see some of the most beautiful areas on earth.
    Almost Heaven…

There are so many incredible scenic drives in Vermont, especially in the fall. Route 100 is always a crowd pleaser, and so is Route 108 between Stowe and Cambridge, VT.
For lesser known routes in VT, try Route 125 between Hancock and Middlebury, and Route 22A between Fair Haven and Vergennes.

The Great River Road on the eastern bank of the mighty Mississippi, that would be Wisconsin folks. Also for midwesterners, Hwy. 2 running east/west through the Upper Peninsula of Michigan can be outstanding. Who ever did this list is biased to the east coast, could you imagine that? Anyone who has a high school science understanding of biology will come to see that timing is the key and it depends on where you are at any given moment, the trees and foliage do not have any say in the matter. Good viewing to all.
