With over 392 national park sites to choose from, planning a summer vacation to one or a few of them can be a bit daunting.

Thankfully, the National Park Service has just launched a new website dedicated to helping you map out your next visit. The new 2010 Summer Adventure planning site features quick links to travel tips, park lodging, and special events galore. Plan your trip around a “ranching weekend,” navigate the parks on “fee free” days or follow one of their “archeology travel” guides to make the most of your national park experience. The site also lets you know how to participate in one of the parks’ many Institutes and Field Schools or how to be a national park volunteer during your vacation, making sure you and your family get memorable first-hand experiences, not just a pretty view from the car window.

Read More: Once you’ve picked your park, be sure to check out National Geographic’s National Park travel guides with tips on lodging and great hikes, plus maps, quizzes, photo galleries and more.
