Starting tonight (June 3) and continuing for eight Thursdays nights through August, visitors to New York City can hop aboard a ferry from Battery Park and make the short trip to Liberty Island for a date with Lady Liberty. Bring a blanket to sit on while you nosh on BBQ dishes (included in your ticket price). Afterward, take photos of the statue at sunset, tour the grounds, and listen to interpretive talks. The statue herself is not open to visit.

Only 1,200 tickets will be available for each night through Statue Cruises. Ticket prices ($35 for adults, $15 for children) include round-trip ferry transport from Battery Park, a full dinner on Liberty Island, and any live talks held that evening. You can spend up to two hours on the island before returning (transportation back to Battery Park will be available after one hour of arriving). Ferries depart for the island at 6:00 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. and return from Liberty Island at 7:30 and 8:30 p.m.
