It may come as no surprise that our colleagues throughout National Geographic are well-traveled. So we’re starting a new feature that’s offering a glimpse of where we’re going: Out of Office.

Sarah Muenzenmayer is the Marketing Manager for National Geographic Expeditions, and she recently traveled on our Galápagos cruise:

“On the last day of our trip we visited Española Island, which has a pristine, white sand beach. We took a Zodiac there from our ship, and had the entire beach to ourselves. Well, us and the sea lions, as it was just covered with them. We took about two hours to wander along the shoreline, admiring and taking pictures of the sea lions that seemed to almost pose for us. You don’t want to get too close, as touching the animals is prohibited and the males can be aggressive. We kept a respectful distance, but I wanted to do something interesting show how close we could get to the sea lions — hence the yoga pose. It was a great way to end the trip.”

Stay tuned for photos, tips, and more from the National Geographic staff.
