• Easter Island’s newly opened visitor’s center is a model of sustainability:┬áthe center was constructed with materials recycled from an existing structure, it’s powered by solar and wind energy and it uses recycled rainwater in the restrooms. The center is located near the entrance of the Orongo Ceremonial Village, one of the most significant archaeological sites in Rapa Nui National Park. [Dwell]

This is a beautiful photo! I can’t wait to see Easter Island myself when I backpack down that way! The colors in the background are amazing the way they just blend in together; it reminds me of when I was hiking along the Na Pali Coastline in Hawaii. The sunsets were remarkable! http://ActivePlanetTravels.com
