#FriFotos: Beyond the Sea

We’re co-hosting #FriFotos this week, so we decided to make OCEANS the theme to celebrate World Oceans Day (it’s today!). We chose this grin-inducing image from this year’s Traveler Photo Contest submissions (a favorite in our latest “Spontaneous Moments” gallery). In it, we see a young sea nomad named Enal riding the tail of a nurse shark in Sulawesi, Indonesia. While we all rely on our world’s oceans in one way or another, that goes double for marine nomads, who spend their entire lives on boats and rarely set foot on land.

Thanks (and good luck) to James Morgan, who submitted this fabulous photo to our contest. It’s not too late to enter: the deadline for submissions is July 11th.
