#FriFotos: Space Oddity

This week’s #FriFotos theme is STARS, and with Wednesday’s announcement from the world’s largest atom smasher still making front-page news, we thought we’d pay homage to this exciting milestone. With the “strongest indication to date” to prove the existence of the Higgs boson — the missing link in the Standard Model known as “the God particle” — we might be getting dangerously close to unraveling some of the universe’s biggest mysteries.

Our own Digital Nomad, Andrew Evans, is in Switzerland right now and recently visited CERN’s Large Hadron Collider on the idyllic outskirts of Geneva. Check out what he had to say about the experience.

Follow Andrew’s adventures in Switzerland (and beyond) on Twitter @WheresAndrew.

And, last but not least, a big shout out to Rainer Hungershausen, who submitted this photo to National Geographic’s My Shot community.
