#FriFotos: Another Brick in the Wall

This week’s #FriFotos theme is BRICK, so we chose this image of a female worker pulling a cart full of bricks at a factory in Hebei province, in northern China. Fun fact: Bricks are ancient building materials — the oldest examples of which were found in Jericho and other locations in the Middle East and date back to approximately 7000 B.C. In 2010, archaeologists unearthed bricks dating back 5,000 to 7,000 years in Shaanxi Province, adding hundreds if not thousands of years onto Chinese brick-making history.

A big thank you to Yongping Chen who submitted this photograph to our My Shot community.
