National Geographic Traveler wants to hear about fascinating people–gung-ho globetrotters, dedicated voluntourists, green-minded adventurers–who go beyond merely vacationing to make the world a better, more interesting place–and inspire us to follow their lead.

This year will mark the third anniversary of our award-winning “Travelers of the Year” package–a quest to find, and shine a light on, individuals who are using the power of travel for good.

In our end-of-summer issue, the magazine will proudly present a fresh class of Travelers of the Year–but we have to find them first! We will be accepting nominations until February 6, so send yours in today!

And, ahem, you don’t have to be humble: You can nominate yourself.

If you live in Washington, D.C., or will be in town on Thursday, February 6, join us for a special event at National Geographic headquarters with several Travelers of the Year honorees from 2013, including Alison Wright, a celebrated photojournalist whose brush with death in a far off place inspired her to step out from behind the camera and give back, intrepid millennialrs Muyambi Muyambi and Molly Burke, who are improving life in rural Uganda one bike at a time, and Tracey Friley, a woman on a mission to bring the power of travel to underserved girls.
