Near Des Moines,IA the best trip in the winter is to the Season of Story at Beaverdale Books on Beaver Dr. in Des Moines, IA.. Storytellers congregate on the last Thursday of the month to challeng themselves for cash prizes and the audience get the best time of all.
It may be a cold trip but it warms the heart before the trip home.
