Our pick for this week’s #FriFotos is a profile shot of Egypt’s Great Sphinx. Carved from limestone, the famous sculpture with the head of a man and body of a reclining lion reaches approximately 66 feet high. The shot was submitted to our photo community by Kaushik Sarkar and was previously selected by our editors to run as the  Travel Photo of the Week.

Do you want to see one of your photographs featured in National Geographic Traveler magazine, on our website, or on the Intelligent Travel blog? Here’s your chance:

Upload your favorite travel photos with a caption to Your Shot/Travel at ngm.com/yourshot. Tag all submissions #travelshot. Each issue we’ll feature one photo on the back page of the magazine. Plus, look for your photos online in one of our My Shot community galleries or on our blog.

*What’s #FriFotos, you ask? It’s a weekly Twitter chat founded by @EpsteinTravels during which travelers share their favorite pics. Each week has a theme. Search #FriFotos on Twitter to see the latest submissions or tweet one of your own!
