Do You Heart Your City?

What’s allllmost better than being able to travel to every city in the world? Hearing about them from the people who know them (and love them) best.

That’s why we started the I Heart My City series in the first place — and why we want to hear why you heart yours!

It’s easy to share the love: Just fill out the questionnaire below and send it to IntelligentTravel@ngs.org, using “I Heart My City” as your subject line.

Get creative: send original photos, videos, digital art, poetry, music – anything that helps show us why you love where you live – along with your responses, and we’ll let you know if we’re going to feature your “I Heart” on the blog.

    Hi!
Just wondering about the approximate time to hear back about a submission? And can we re-submit?

    Thanks!

Hi! I was wandering if we have to answer all the questions. Can we replace some by others? Thanks!

      Hi Ariane,
Feel free to skip the occasional question, but we’d like you to answer most of them (upwards of 80 percent). And please submit your suggestions for new questions we might add to the questionnaire. We’re bound to update it at some point, and would love to hear your ideas!
      Thanks for writing,
      Leslie

Can the same city be featured more than once in the “I Heart my City” blog?

Yes! But we do try to put some distance between them — usually at least 6 months. Hope this helps — and that you end up submitting one!

    Hi Chelsea,
While we encourage authors to send photos along with their posts (they don’t have to be perfect; it just gives us more options — especially if the city is a bit more under the radar), it’s not a requirement by any means. Please submit!
    Thanks for writing,
    Leslie

I would love to submit my city to this series! However, I have a question about submitting photos. I am a much better writer than photographer, so if we do not submit our own original photos will your editors find suitable shots? I’ve noticed a lot of previous posts include photos from sites such as Flickr that are not from the original writer, so I’m just wondering how that works!

Looking forward to hearing your response!

    Cheers,

    Chelsea
